Devlog #9: Extra week of production
Hello people of the internet! Welcome back to another week of updates for Split My Ride.
Unfortunately we didn't meet the deadline's criteria so we had an extra week of production. Here are the beautiful stuff we made!
PLAYER SELECTION
We added a player selection screen to our game to make it less confusing which side of the car you are.
CAR TRAIL
To make it not look like the car is floating, we have added a trail behind the wheels to make it look like it is riding on a road.
LASER REVAMP
We made the laser look more laser-y.
DAMAGE SPLASH SCREEN
We have added a red splash screen to indicate that you have been hit by danger.
SOUND EFFECTS
We didn't want to hear crickets in the game so we have put sounds in game like:
- Coin bell when collecting coins
- Car engine
- Explosion sounds when the rocket hits you
ADDED FEATURES
- Added the player selection screen, because it wasn't clear which side you were before starting the game.
- Added how much you get when collection coins and power-ups on the screen.
- Sound effects on coins, car and enemy hitting you.
- Put a visual timer on how long the car debuff will last.
-Controller rumble when getting damaged
-Sparks when car grinds to the sides of the road
-Screen shake when getting damaged
